Clowndance Syllabus
Game: All Together Now
This is a group game- if we have a large group we will split into two, half doing and half watching, and then swap round. If it's a smaller group and we're working in a studio with a mirror, we will all play together, facing the mirror.
We choose a track to dance to, ideally one with a fairly repetitive structure. We will set a short phrase of movement that fits with the rhythm of the music- possibly using the Live Generation game to build the phrase collectively.
The game is that at least one person must be dancing the phrase at all times. We will start all dancing it together, repeating it to the music. At any point anyone can choose to leave the phrase and do something else, and return to the phrase whenever they like, or not at all. The game finishes when the music finishes.
Reflection
What did you see?
What did you hear?
What did you feel?
What did you enjoy?
Both in the role of performer and the role of audience.
