Game: Noises Of...
We stand together in a circle. We are going to explore sounds that express five basic human emotions- these are:
We will choose one emotion to start with. Going around the circle one by one we will make a noise that expresses that emotion- it might be accompanied by a gesture or a shift in posture, but we don’t want recognisable words. Once somebody has made a noise the rest of the group repeats it back.
We repeat this process with each of the five basic emotions moving on when we feel we have explored the full range of that emotion. For disgust for instance, this would be everything from a mild tut of disapproval to full-on retching.
We can then combine emotions so joy and fear might become excitement, disgust and anger might become revulsion. Again we play until we feel we have explored as much as we can.
Reflection
