Game: Preparation for Pirouette
One person performs at a time, with the others as audience. The game is to convince the audience that you are about to perform a movement, but delay actually doing it for as long as possible.
For dancers a good option for this game is to choose a step that you genuinely dislike doing. Ideally even when you are playing the game you shouldn't be sure whether or not this is the time that you are actually going to do the step- the fun is all in the suspense.
Reflection
Did you know when the performer was actually going to do the move?
Could it have lasted longer or had we had enough?

Title inspired by an exercise from the RAD ballet syllabus, as taught in the late 1980s.
